Homework Due 9/13 – A Day

Periods 1B & 2B: there should not be any homework. Last class you had the entire class period to work on the following (which should have been turned in by the end of class):

  1. _____ READ (10-15 minutes): Read and annotate “Time for a Raise?” Mark up information that is most important, circle terms you do not know, put question marks next to information you have questions about.
  2. _____ “5-4-3-2-1” (15-20 minutes): When finished reading, complete the “5-4-3-2-1.”
  3. _____ MULTIPLE-CHOICE (10 minutes): Complete “Time for a Raise” #1-6 by circling the answer that best completes the statement or answers the question. Use the article to answer the questions. All answers are in the article.
  4. _____ GRAPH (10 minutes): Review the graph “Minimum Wages Worldwide” answer multiple-choice questions #1-5 by circling the correct answer.
  5. _____ ESSAY (20 minutes): On the bottom of the graph “Minimum Wages Worldwide” is an “Essay” question. Answer the question in your QOTD notebook (use the same process as last class). Answer all parts of the question in-depth, using complete sentences, and evidence from the article.

Open House 9/7

On Wednesday, September 6th Nokomis Regional High will host an open house. You will get a chance to tour the building, see the classrooms where your student will be working, and have an opportunity to meet (briefly) with your child’s teacher.

Oh Gosh Summer Vacation is Almost OVER!

School starts for 10th-12th graders on Wednesday, August 31.

All you need for supplies for Contemporary America are:

  1. Writing utensils – pencils and/or pens (blue or black ink only for work that is going to be turned in)
  2. A 1.5″ binder – we do not have textbooks so you need a safe, organized place to keep all of your work and handouts, reources, etc.
  3. Filler paper
  4. *Dividers – these are optional
